The smartwatch portfolio of Apple is
suddenly overnight from simple to unexpectedly complex.
Where we used to get the model for this year or last year at a
cheaper price, Apple now provides three distinct Apple Watch versions with various pricing ranges and choices.
In this piece I review the one in the centre, the brand-new Apple Watch SE, but not very new
inside. It’s significantly less than the flagship Series6 and not that much more costly than the ageing Series3 .
SE is a new Apple model practically, but it’s
not entirely new inside and outside, much like iPhone SE.
In theory, it’s the same thing as the 2018 4 Series except only two
small differences: The SE can’t measure your ECG but it has a constantly improved altimeter.
The latter may not have any effect on your
use, but for some people the former may be significant.
